Video Poker is a popular game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos throughout the globe, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, using a net account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the greatest mixture of cards as you can in order to win money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A 5 card hand will be "given out" on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors will need to now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the enthusiast has selected which cards he or she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards will be given out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that skillful players are agile enough to select the most profitable ones each and every instance.

After the first round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Additionally, some styles of the game give the enthusiast a chance to double their wins, in which instance a further hand is played. There are also differences between individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
