Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be bet on in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at your house on your home computer, using an Internet connection. The regulations are absolutely simple and consist of the player attempting to achieve the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, apart from the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the play button. A hand of 5 cards will be "distributed" on the screen.

The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and enthusiasts should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the player has chosen which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are given out if desired. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands printed on the pay out schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can range from machine to machine, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to pick the most money-making ones every time.

After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that might have been won. Further, some styles of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their profits, in which case another game is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
