Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your PC, using a net connection. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the greatest assemblage of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the line of contact with any other players. Of course, methods used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be given out. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payment schedule.

Generally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payment schedule can range from game to game, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to pick the most profitable ones each instance.

As soon as the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game give the bettor a chance to double their winnings, in which case a further round is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
