The Proper Way to Gamble on Electronic Poker

by Sergio on Oct.11, 2015, under Video Poker

Video Poker is a favored game that is able to be bet on in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your personal computer, through a web account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the best mixture of cards achievable in order to come away with cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a normal game of poker, apart from the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will then be "dealt" on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players will need to now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.

Typically, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most beneficial game each instance.

After the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, several versions of the game give the player a chance to double their profits, in which case another game is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
