Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be wagered on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at home on your home computer, through an Internet account. The rules are absolutely simple and involve the player attempting to achieve the greatest assemblage of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker begins when the gambler puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be "dealt" on the video screen.
The Video Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now decide which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the enthusiast wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the enthusiast has selected which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards are needed they will be handed out. The game is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that skillful enthusiasts are agile enough to select the most beneficial ones each instance.
Once the initial round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that might have been won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their winnings, in which situation a further game is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying aspects to enhance playability.
