Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be played in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your personal computer, through a web account. The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards possible in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the line of contact with competing players. Of course, techniques employed during a physical game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the play button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to throw away. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, from all to none.
After the bettor has chosen which cards he or she would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that discerning gamblers are able to choose the most beneficial game each and every time.
As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to increase their wins, in which situation a further game is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
