Video Poker is a favored game that usually will be played in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your PC, using a web connection. The rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the highest assemblage of cards possible in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, without the line of contact with other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be "distributed" on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and players will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has decided on which cards she would like to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payout schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the payout schedule can change from game to game, so that experienced enthusiasts are able to pick the most profitable ones each time.
As soon as the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to remain on in an attempt to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Further, a few styles of the game allow the gambler an opportunity to double their winnings, in which instance another round is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
