Electronic Poker is a beloved game that is able to be wagered on in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a net account. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the greatest combination of cards as you can in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and presses the play button. A hand of 5 cards will be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors should now decide which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards are needed they will be given out. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money getting larger for each and every better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most profitable machine every instance.
As soon as the initial round has finished, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that has been won. Additionally, some styles of the game allow the player an opportunity to double their winnings, in which case a further hand is played. There are also differences between individual machines, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other varying elements to increase playability.
