Video Poker is a beloved game that is able to be gambled on in casinos around the world, or in your house on your PC, using an Internet connection. The game rules are very straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the greatest assemblage of cards possible in order to acquire money. On this account it is much the same as a normal game of poker, without the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless here.

The game of Electronic Poker starts when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, tickets or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A 5 card hand will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the enthusiast would like to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the bettor has selected which cards he or she wishes to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The hand is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the pay out schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payment schedule can change from machine to machine, so that discerning bettors are agile enough to select the most profitable game each instance.

As soon as the first round has completed, the player can either choose to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that might have been won. Further, some versions of the game give the gambler an opportunity to increase their profits, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing elements to increase playability.
